Description

This is a row of seven houses located at 5-17 Bromyard Road, Worcester, dating to around 1830. Later additions and alterations have been made, including 19th and 20th-century extensions to the rear of the properties. The houses are constructed of red brick with a Welsh slate roof, and have various brick ridge and rear stacks. Numbers 5 and 9 are three storeys high with a basement, while the remaining houses are two storeys high with a basement. There are 14 first-floor windows, generally two per house. Number 5 has sash windows with gauged brick lintels, and a part-glazed door with a fanlight on its left end. Number 7 features 6/6 sashes, a reeded doorcase and door, and a canted bay window to the right containing 6/6 and 4/4 sashes. Number 9 has a combination of 3/6, 6/6 and 8/8 sashes, a gauged brick lintel to the ground floor, and a 20th-century basement window. Numbers 11, 13, and 15 have 6/6 and 8/8 sashes with gauged brick lintels to the ground floor, plus a reeded doorcase with fanlights and 5-panel doors. Number 17 is similar in appearance, but with a canted bay window to the right containing 6/6 and 4/4 sashes, and a 6/6 sash on the right end. The interiors have not been inspected.
