Description
The war memorial is a Portland stone obelisk that stands on a square block. This block is supported by three low diminishing steps leading up to the obelisk. The top of the obelisk is also stepped and features a circular iron lantern with a domed top. Three faces of the obelisk are inscribed with the names of those from the Caerwent area who fell in the two World Wars, and above these inscriptions is a relief block with a carved wreath. The entire structure is set on large stone blocks that were formerly part of the village Cross and is enclosed by plain wrought iron railings.
