Description

The Walker Memorial Lychgate at the Church of St Stephen and St Tathan is a notable structure featuring parallel dwarf walls made of coursed squared white rock-faced limestone rubble, with red sandstone ashlar ends and capping. The moulded top supports an oak plate that holds four oak posts, which in turn support a gabled roof. This roof is constructed with four kingpost trusses that include curved braces, scalloped bargeboards, and is covered with tiles. The lychgate has a double gate that revolves around a central axis fixed into the beam above.
