Description
Ye Olde Tippling Philosopher Public House is a two-storey building featuring stripped rubble walls with rough quoins. It has yellow and red brick window surrounds, along with an area of brick patching on the first floor to the right. The gable end facing the road is blank. The roof is slate with a gabled design and lacks verges, while there is a rendered stack and an external stone breast at the south-west end.
The entrance front includes four 12-pane sash windows on the first floor. On the ground floor, there is a doorway offset to the right, which features an arched voussoir lintel and a boarded door. To the left of the doorway, there is a window with six vertical panes under a stone lintel. To the right, there are three 16-pane windows in brick surrounds, each with keystones and panelled shutters on the interior.
Inside, the ground floor has been opened up into one bar area and contains two altered fireplaces.
