Description
Town Gate House is a Georgian house that is now used as offices and is attached to buildings on either side. The exterior features walls rendered with scored stucco and a slate roof with a moulded eaves cornice. The house has three storeys and a single window range. The upper floors have sash windows set in reveals, while the ground floor features a wider six-pane sash window with a moulded architrave. To the right, there is a round-arched doorway accessed by steps, which has panelled reveals leading to a recessed six-panelled door with an architrave and a plain semi-circular fanlight.
Inside, the stairs rise to the right against the side wall, spanning two storeys. The staircase includes stick balusters, a ramped handrail, and a turned newel post.
