Description
Glendower House is a two-storey neo-Classical chapel, stuccoed and painted throughout, with Welsh slate roofs. The rectangular building features a three-bay facade, flanked by two full-height plain pilasters. The centre bay is recessed and has two massive rounded three-quarter columns topped with Corinthian capitals. The ground floor has double doors with a narrow round-headed window set in rustication above, along with a small paned window. The side bays have matching first-floor windows and plain panels beneath, all framed by architraves. A cornice and panelled parapet are present, broken at the centre by balustrading, while the roof is not visible from the street.
The return elevations have four similar upper-floor windows, framed by additional pilasters beside the outer windows. There is a cornice, but only a low parapet. The rear elevation features a single-storey hipped roof extension with circular windows on either side in the upper floor. The roof is slate and has an M-profile.
The interior of Glendower House had been derelict but was repaired and converted into a modern house in 2002. Although it was not inspected during the resurvey, it is known to retain the entrance lobby, original stairs, gallery, and is essentially complete in its main components.
