Description
Mounton House Cottages is a row of three cottages built of squared limestone rubble with tiled roofs. Constructed in the 18th century, the cottages are arranged as a two-storey row of one bay, seven bays, and one bay, with the outer bays set forward and gabled. The outer bays each feature 3-light mullioned windows on both floors. The central section has three doorways and four ground-floor windows arranged in a pattern of door, double window, door, double window, door, with each window being 2-light. Above the ground-floor openings are a 3-light window at each end and a 7-light window in the centre. The roof has three large stone stacks, one on each gabled end and one centrally. Each gable end has a 5-light window at ground floor level and a 2-light window above. A rear elevation features six gabled dormers. The interior was not inspected at the time of resurvey.
