Description
Monachty Farmhouse is a two-storey building constructed of painted stone rubble with a Welsh slate roof, featuring a single-storey extension on the right side. The front elevation has two ground floor windows, which are three-light small paned casements, and a part-glazed door topped by a gabled slated hood supported on brackets. The upper floor contains four two-light small paned casements. There are end ridge stacks, with the left stack made of rubble and featuring two diamond-set red brick shafts, while the right stack is a plain red brick. The extension has no windows.
On the rear elevation, there are three small paned casements on the first floor, and the extension includes a plain door and a small four-pane casement.
The overall layout of the farmhouse remains largely unaltered, although some historic features have been removed or obscured by later modifications and decorations. A light scantling principal rafter can be seen at the top of the replacement staircase, but the upper floor was not inspected.
