Description
This structure is a culvert that carries the Blaen Bran stream beneath the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. It is built from rubble stone and features a low tunnel with an arched opening on the downstream side, which is set under a high rubble stone embankment wall that has a renewed stone parapet. The abutments on either side of the culvert are splayed, as are the parapets above. The arch is constructed with stone voussoirs, and the walling is made of squared stone laid in courses. The upstream side of the culvert is significantly lower and does not have a parapet. The walling above the arch has been partly replaced with red brick, and it also has splayed abutments.
