Description
This is a lime kiln with a rectangular plan, built into a bank at the edge of a field, featuring walls made of rubble stone and retaining walls that splay out on each side. The longer southern side has two large kiln-eyes that are offset to the east, with the wall stepped out at the western end. The kiln-eyes have segmental arches made of dressed stone voussoirs and a central rubble stone pier. The crucible is open and lined with brick, but it is in deteriorating condition, as is the kiln-eye to the east. The western retaining wall and central pier have been extended, and the area has been roofed with iron sheets to create an animal shelter.
