Description

The War Memorial is an Art Deco style column constructed from Portland stone and built on a square base. It stands on a wide stone dais, which is surrounded by low iron railings. Each of the four sides of the column is similar, featuring stone panels. Three of these panels are inset with bronze plaques, while the southern panel has an additional small plaque below it. Above each panel, there are three vertical slots that are fitted with metal grills. The column tapers as it rises and is topped with a clock tower, which has a clock face on each side.
