Description

Cwmavon House is a building of group value, likely dating from the 18th century. It appears as a square block but is in fact a U-shaped building constructed of rendered and painted material, probably over rubble stone, and covered by stone slate roofs. The west elevation presents four windows, unevenly spaced, with six-over-six sash windows on the ground floor and eight-over-eight sashes above. The third bay on the ground floor incorporates a partly glazed door. A hipped roof is topped by a stack on the left wall and between the third and fourth bays. The south elevation has five windows, comprising a mix of eight-over-eight and one-over-one sash windows. A projecting porch is situated on the ground floor. The north elevation also features four windows. The rear elevation is not visible. The interior was not inspected during a resurvey in January 1997.
