Former Navigation Colliery North Winding Engine House

The Former Navigation Colliery North Winding Engine House is a tall, single-storey rectangular building that is small in plan. Constructed from high-quality red and yellow engineering brick, the yellow brick is slightly set out and partly stepped at the quoins, pilasters, plinth, and cornice, creating a grid pattern. The building features a Welsh slate roof with a long gabled ridge ventilator. It measures five bays long and three bays wide. The side elevation has long, narrow, round-arched multipane metal windows with a narrow keystone and sill, although three of these windows are now half blocked. The gable end includes a large round-arched central doorway at ground level, with a wide segmental arched opening above it, flanked by similar windows.
