Description

Preswylfa is a detached house featuring painted roughcast with brick dressings and a plinth, topped by a steep pitched tiled roof with overhanging boarded eaves. The house has casement windows with leaded rectangular quarries, some of which are original while others have been replaced. It has an L-shaped plan and an asymmetrical frontage. On the left side, there is a two-storey gabled bay with a steep pitch, which includes a four-light first floor window set within a narrow segmental arched brick surround, and a flat-roofed canted bay below. On the right side, the roof slopes down over the ground floor windows, incorporating a dormer at first floor level with three similar but smaller lights, and extends over double and triple hall lights, forming a bracketed hood over the half-glazed and boarded front door.

The uphill-facing elevation features a four-light first floor window, now without quarries, and a canted flat-roofed ground floor bay. At the rear, the chimney stacks are more prominent, with one on the ridge, another on the rear wing, and a tall external brick stack below, some retaining their original pots. The windows have tiled sills and brick surrounds, and there is a staircase window with decorative coloured glass.

Inside, the front door opens onto a spacious hall, from which rooms and the staircase lead. The main living room is highlighted by an inglenook fireplace.
