Description

St Catherine's Church Parish Rooms is a two-storey church hall built in a simple Gothic style. It is constructed from snecked rock-faced sandstone with freestone dressings and has a slate roof behind coped gables. The main entrance is located at the south gable end, featuring a gabled porch with a pointed doorway and double boarded doors. The porch is flanked by lancet windows, and above it is a three-light window where the central light is shorter and topped with a circular plate tracery light. Beneath the apex of the gable, there are three narrow openings.

The left side wall has four bays with lower-storey buttresses and pairs of tall pointed windows, while the upper storey features shorter pairs of windows with cusped heads. On the right side, there is a single bay similar to the left side, followed by a three-window hipped-roof stair projection. This projection has double boarded doors facing the front, situated beneath a blind panel and shouldered lintel, with a two-light window above that illuminates the stair. To the right of the projection, there is an added lean-to with single cusped lights on the upper storey. At the rear, there is an additional projection that was occupied by 'the Career Centre' at the time of inspection.

Inside, there is an open-well stair with turned balusters and newels. The upper storey, which has exposed trusses, was not accessible during the inspection.
