Description
Llainfadyn is a cottage with whitewashed walls made of stone boulders, built directly on the ground with a thicker base for the foundation. It features a slate gabled roof with a stone chimney at the north-east end. The front, or north-west elevation, has a square-headed doorway and a small sash window with glazing bars located to the north-east of the doorway. There is also a second small window in the rear wall. The cottage is surrounded by a garden with low walls.
Inside, there is an open fireplace with an alcove and a bressumer dated 1762 in the north-east gable end wall. The cottage has a croglofft at the south-west end and an earth floor with a slate platform for furniture, as well as a slate slab near the doorway to help exclude draughts. Some of the furniture displayed originally came from the cottage, including a noteworthy late 18th-century 'cwpwrdd bara caws' or bread-and-cheese cupboard.
