Description

9 and 10 Park Place are a pair of large High Victorian Gothic houses built in the 19th century. They stand three storeys tall with a basement, featuring paired full-height bays in the center and entrance bays at the outer ends. The houses are constructed of snecked rubble with freestone dressings and weathered stringcourses, with some brick used in the gables and chimney stacks at the center and ends. The roofs are slate, and twin gables rise over the splayed bays, which also include traceried gablets and bracketed eaves.

Each house has four windows, consisting of paired and single pointed lights with stone shafts, cusping, and carved capitals, as well as sash windows. The pointed entrance archways are accessed via parapetted stairs and feature moulded arches supported by foliage corbels. The entrances are adorned with recessed Gothic screens that have sidelights beside the doors, and the porches showcase elaborate plasterwork.
