Description
These are three late 18th-century houses, numbered 16, 17, and 18 Park Vista, designed as a unified composition and built of multicoloured stock brick. Number 17, located centrally, is four storeys high with a basement, topped by a pediment bearing the plaque "PARK PLACE 1791." Houses 16 and 18 are three storeys high with basements and have parapets. All three houses have two windows each. The windows are set within gauged brick arches. The ground floor windows are round-headed, and the doors are also round-headed. Some windows retain their original glazing bars; others have been replaced, notably the ground floor windows of numbers 16 and 18, which feature elaborate glazing at the heads. A band runs along the first-floor cill level. Small wrought iron balconies are positioned in front of the long first-floor windows, with those of number 17 set within round arched recesses. There are eight steps leading to the front doors - those of number 16 have been renewed in concrete - with six-panel doors, cornice heads, and fanlights, the door of number 17 having been altered. Cast iron handrails run along the steps.
