Description
The wall, railings, and gates to the east of the National Maritime Museum date from the early 19th century. They feature tall, cast iron railings adorned with leaf or spearhead finials, extending from the northeast corner of the museum grounds southward for 55 yards. At the end of this section, there is a double cast iron gate, which is hung from square cast iron piers that include lampholders. A stuccoed wall continues south from these gates to another similar pair of gates, along with a small section of railings located at the southeast corner of the grounds.
