Description
3 and 4 Park Place is a large Gothic semi-detached pair of houses that have been modernized for use as offices. The buildings are three storeys tall, with attics and a basement. They are constructed from snecked Pennant rubble, featuring freestone dressings and weathered stringcourses. The roofs are hipped and covered with slate, and the chimneys have been rebuilt in red brick.
Each house has four windows across the front, with paired splayed bays at the center. The attics are topped with a raised pyramidal roof that includes windows at two levels. The sash glazing is set within mullioned windows. On the first floor, there are Gothic windows that have stone shafts and carved capitals. The entrances on the outer ground floor bays are segmental-headed and accessed via parapetted stairs. These entrances are adorned with corbelled hoods that have carved capitals, supporting fretted parapets featuring carved beasts at the corners. The end elevations include projecting cut-down chimney stacks.
