Description
The lychgate and the attached wall leading down to the Cathedral are both constructed from pink Radyr and grey Forest of Dean sandstones. The lychgate features a pointed arch and a stepped hipped stone roof topped with a cruciform finial. It also includes stone modillions, buttresses, and oak double gates. The wall extends downhill from the lychgate to the Prebendal House, with a flight of steps leading to the Cathedral. This low wall has a castellated ramped stone coping, and the steps to the Cathedral are flanked by Radyr stone piers.
