Description
The Memorial Cross to Dean William Conybeare is a notable structure made of local stone for the steps and white Mansfield stone for the shaft. It features a high square platform with a moulded lip that supports four diminishing steps, with the top step being octagonal. At the base, there is a socket-stone with small buttresses at the corners. The tall tapering shaft transitions from square to octagonal and is topped with a carved cross-head. The cross-head displays reliefs depicting the Crucifixion and Resurrection.
