Description

This description covers a section of cast iron posts and railings that once marked the boundary of the Docks area. The railings extend approximately 220 metres in length and feature seventy-four posts, each about 2 metres high. The posts have round shafts with bases and cubiform plinths adorned with 4-pointed star decorations on their faces. This design is echoed above the capitals, which are topped with hexagonal pinnacles. There are also two modern brick piers related to the electricity supply. The posts bear an inscription in raised lettering that reads 'Bayliss & Co, Wolverhampton'. Simple iron railings are situated between the posts.
