Description

These mid-19th century cast-iron railings form the southern boundary of New River Company land, running along the back of the footpath on the north side of London Road for approximately 350 meters. The railings feature a standard pattern with pointed shafts arranged between square uprights, topped with acorn finials and supported by curved braces. They are set on cast-iron saddleback copings and a yellow-brown stock brick base that includes buttresses. A 20th-century concrete slab bridge serving Amwell End Pumping Station is not of special interest and is not included in this listing.
