Description
The statue of the Third Marquess of Bute is a standing bronze figure depicting the Marquess in his peer's robes, with his right foot advanced and his right hand grasping his robes. The statue is mounted on a tall granite pedestal that features several inscriptions. On the front, it reads "John III Marquess of Bute" with a heraldic shield above it. The left side states "Baron Cardiff 1847-1900," also with a heraldic shield above. The right side displays "Earl of Windsor," accompanied by a heraldic shield, while the rear of the pedestal states "Earl of Dumfries."
