Description
The Clergy House of the Church of St German of Auxerre is a two-storey house built from grey-pink Swelldon stone with bathstone dressings and a slate roof, featuring stone chimneys and a double-pile plan. It faces Metal Street with an asymmetrical front that has five windows and a slightly advanced entrance bay topped with a gable. The first-floor window above the entrance has two ogee lights, and the doorway is ogee-headed with a four-mullioned overlight and a hoodmould. To the right of the entrance, the first floor has two three-light windows at the eaves, while the ground floor features a three-light mullion and transom window alongside a three-light Gothic window with cusped tracery. To the left of the entrance, the first floor has a window similar to the right, and the ground floor has two two-light mullion and transom windows with ogee heads.
On the gable end facing Sun Street, there is a first-floor window with three cusped lights and a similar two-light window to the left. The cross range includes two first-floor and three ground-floor windows, with a single-storey block to the left featuring a four-light mullion and transom window above the gable. The rear of the house has three two-storey gabled bays, with the right bay containing a four-light mullion and transom stair window, while the other two bays, which have rendered gables, feature three-light windows with glazed splays on each floor.
