Description
Mulligan's, formerly known as the Cambrian Hotel, is a public house that stands three storeys high. It features a single bay facing St Mary Street and a single bay plus a four-window block on Caroline Street, with the entrance located in a splayed corner bay. The corner block is constructed from Pennant Stone and has bathstone dressings. The roof is slate, and there is a bathstone parapet with an inscription, along with a shaped gable over the corner bay that also bears the inscription "Cambrian Hotel."
The entrance bay is defined by stone corners, with each floor featuring a 2-light window supported by short columns with foliated capitals. The St Mary Street side has similar 3-light windows, and the first bay of Caroline Street also follows this design. The Caroline Street frontage is finished in yellow brick, accented with red banding, and includes camber-headed sash windows on the top floor and tripartite sashes on the first floor. On the ground floor, there is a well-preserved late Victorian public house front that is articulated by stone pillars.
