Description
The Whitchurch War Memorial is a granite obelisk that stands on a plinth and is elevated by five square steps that diminish in size. The front of the obelisk features an inscription that reads, "IN PROUD & HONOURED MEMORY OF THE MEN OF WHITCHURCH WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919 SEMPER FIDELIS 1030-1945." The names of the fallen are inscribed on the sides and rear of the obelisk. At the top, there is a bronze figure of an infantryman standing with his arms reversed.
