Description
Picketston is a building that features roughcast, likely applied over local rubblestone, and is topped with Welsh slate roofs. It is designed in a subtly suggested Tudor Gothic style. The structure consists of one main range with a rear service wing, standing two storeys high and featuring four windows with 8 over 8 pane sashes. The entrance is located in the third bay from the left and includes a projecting gabled porch with a modern replacement door set in a 4-centred head, along with side windows flanking the porch. Above the porch, there is a standard 6 over 6 pane sash window, and above this, the eaves gable is adorned with a large moulded timber pendant. The roof is hipped, featuring end stacks and a third stack in the centre of the rear wall, with paired diamond-set red brick shafts. The rear elevation is plain and mostly fitted with replacement plastic windows. The interior was not available for inspection at the time of the resurvey.
