Description
The forecourt and graveyard gates, gatepiers, and walls of Bethesda'r Fro Chapel date from the 19th century. The south-west forecourt is enclosed by a limestone rubble wall that features two gate piers and a central iron gate. The gate has circular uprights that rise alternately above the top and middle rails, with stud finials on the lower uprights and arrow-headed finials on the upper ones.
Three stone steps lead up through the gate to a stone flagged path that leads to the chapel door. There is also a path at right angles that leads to the north-west wing on the left and to another 19th-century iron gate at the entrance to the graveyard on the right. This second gate also has circular uprights that rise alternately above the top and middle rails, all topped with arrow-head finials.
The graveyard is enclosed by additional rubble walls forming a large square, which includes piers and a wider opening with double iron gates that provide access from the main road.
