Bridge over Incline Plane Tondu

The bridge over the Incline Plane at Tondu is a Grade II listed structure. It features two deep stone abutments made of snecked rockfaced stone, with mainly yellow brick dressings. There are two channels for the iron bridge, which still has its main section in place, consisting of six plated panels resting on an ashlar padstone. The rear abutments are angled to match the gradient on the uphill side, while the front abutments rise about 45 courses high and appear to have once had stone coping, which is now mostly missing. There is no remaining parapet, and an angled approach wall is located to the right. The bridge is currently neglected and covered in ivy, but it still serves as a pathway.
