Description
Park House is a long rectangular house built of coursed or snecked ironstone rubble, with some tooled ashlar and yellow and red brick dressings. The sides and rear feature rockfaced stone, topped with a Welsh slate roof. It has a stone ridge and an end stack on the right, along with a full height external red brick stack at the rear, and blue brick ridge tiles. The house is built against the back of number 26, resulting in a road frontage that is only half its length, with the left bay being a later addition.
The house has two storeys. On the first floor, there is a 6/6 pane sash window with a stone lintel to the right and a large segmental arched 6/6 pane sash window with a red brick surround to the left. The ground floor features a large 8/8 pane sash window with a stone lintel between these two windows, and a brick gabled entrance porch with an overlight above the door on the right. The rear elevation reveals more of the original structure, with a range of two 6/6 pane sash windows featuring segmental arched stone voussoirs on the left, and a remodelled doorway with a brick surround. The right side has later additions, and the return wall includes 8/8 pane sashes with stone lintels and tooled quoins.
Inside, there is a long hall that runs at right angles to the porch, accommodating a blank wall at the rear of number 26. The hall features an open string staircase with stick balusters, brackets to the treads, and formerly a wreathed handrail.
