Description
This is a group of three stone table tombs located in the churchyard of Coychurch, adjacent to the south porch. The tomb closest to the south door features an engraved stone slab commemorating Jenkin David of St Bride's Minor, who died in 1812, and Margaret, who died in 1830. This tomb has a later added inscription panel on the west side and is set on an ashlar tomb chest.
To the east of the cross, there are two similar tombs. One has a moulded slab with inscription panels on the sides and decorative corners that include fluting and roundels. The tomb nearest the south churchyard wall is dedicated to the Reverend John Llewellyn of Marcross, who was the curate of Coychurch parish and died in 1832. The tomb situated between the other two contains a long and mostly illegible inscription, the beginning of which commemorates David Rhys of Tancoed, who died in 1824.
