Description
The Malthouse at Home Farm is a tall, single-storey building with a gabled roof, featuring an attic and a basement. It is constructed from coursed rubble stone, with a thin rat-run course of slabs and a plinth made of roughcast rubble stone. The roof is covered with slate.
On the west gable end, there is a boarded door set beneath a flat brick arch, with a basement opening below it framed in wood. The east gable end has a basement doorway that is accessed via stone steps, also featuring a boarded door. Above this doorway, small windows are located under flat brick arches on both the lower storey and the attic. A late 20th-century lean-to structure is attached to the south side.
Inside, the basement has a plastered stone tunnel vault and stone benches along the side walls. The main storey and loft were not accessible for inspection, but they are noted to have plastered walls.
