Description
The Clydach Aqueduct on the Tennant Canal is a canal aqueduct constructed from rubble stone. It features two segmental arches made with thin stone voussoirs and a cutwater between them. On the south side, there are rubble stone parapets topped with curved slag blocks at the center, and the abutments are splayed out on each side in smooth quadrant curves. To the west, there is a sluice gate accompanied by sandstone steps that lead at a right angle to the river, supported by rusticated pillars. The north side lacks parapets and has been heavily repaired with cement.
