Description
The East farmyard range at Bryn-rhos is a two-storey outbuilding constructed from rubble stone with a slate roof. Although it appears to have two storeys from the outside, it has full-height interior space. The building features seven bays, with stone voussoirs above all openings. There are seven doors on the ground floor, with the fourth door altered to a window and the fifth door blocked. On the upper floor, there are seven windows, but only three of these are operable, located in even bays and fitted with metal casements. The south end wall has a blocked dovecote that is unusual, featuring a round opening in the center surrounded by a ring of raised stone, along with six blocked small openings arranged in a hexagonal pattern with a shelf below. The north end has a door leading to a feed passage on the left. The end gables have been added, showing a difference in stonework.
Inside, the building has a collar-truss roof, with remnants of the former hipped ends still visible. The interior includes a single cow-shed in all but the last bay, with dovecotes walled off at each end.
