Description
The Unitarian Church is a Grade II listed building featuring snecked rubble facings and freestone dressings, topped with slate roofs. It has a gable parapet adorned with a floriated cross and crenellated pinnacles, along with an oculus at the apex. The church boasts a large four-centred traceried Perpendicular window with a hoodmould. The porch, which was indicated as a vestry in an 1852 plan, has triple openings with depressed arches, chamfered imposts, and triple doorways that have pointed heads.
The northern front is tall and cemented, with a gable flanked by lean-to aisles. The eastern side is also cement rendered and set high above the Strand, featuring a Perpendicular clerestory and a slate roof with gable parapets that are topped by floriated crosses and carved kneelers.
The forecourt is enclosed by attractive spear railings that have a quatrefoil motif in the bands, and there is a scrolled lamp-bracket over the double gates.
