Description
4 Pont-y-bryn-hurt is a pair of double-fronted one-and-a-half storey cottages, with No 3 on the left being narrower. They are constructed of rubble sandstone and feature stone tile roofs. The cottages have coursed, rock-faced stone stacks added in the 19th century on both the right and left sides. The windows and half dormers are fitted with 2-light casements, and the doors are boarded, with all openings having stone lintels. On the extreme right, the jamb and haunches of a former cart shed opening can be seen. There are lean-tos against the gable end, made of snecked sandstone on the left and rubble on the right. At the rear, there are continuous outshuts with openings in brick surrounds that have replaced earlier blocked openings. The building was not inspected at the time of the survey in August 1997.
