Description
The Goose and Cuckoo Public House is a building constructed from roughly coursed local sandstone rubble, topped with a natural slate roof featuring red ridge tiles and stone rubble stacks. It has a double depth central entry plan and stands two storeys high with two windows. The front features a plain panelled door beneath a late 20th-century gabled porch. The ground floor windows are 8 over 8 pane sashes, while the upper floor has 4 over 8 pane windows. The roof is plain with projecting eaves and gable stacks that show signs of weathering. The right side of the building is blind, and the left side has a lower set back wing. The rear elevation has been altered.
Inside, the ground floor has been opened up into a single bar space, although the previous layout is still clearly identifiable. The upper floor was not inspected during the resurvey.
