Description

The Talybont Aqueduct, part of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, is located at the northern border of the Talybont Basin. It carries the canal high above the Caerfanell River and features a sluice in the southern part of the basin that connects to the river. At the level of the canal, the aqueduct has a low stone parapet with flat copings. Constructed from sandstone rubble, the bridge spans the river with a wide segmental arch that includes dressed stone voussoirs, metal tie bars, and curved abutments.
