Description
The former house at Brynllici, now used as a barn, is built into a slope and constructed of rubble stone that was once lime-washed, topped with a corrugated roof. This rectangular building has two storeys and an attic. The main front, which is buttressed on the right, features a centrally located altered doorway beneath a wide bracketed hood with a square hoodmould. To the left of the doorway is a small segmental arched opening, and to the right, there is a boarded window with a timber lintel. On the first floor, there is a small opening at eaves level above the door, and an altered window under a timber lintel and square hoodmould at the upper right.
The gable end facing the farmyard on the right has a former window with a square hoodmould and a heavy timber lintel on all three storeys, with the centre retaining a timber frame and two mullions; one of the mullions in the attic window has been burned. At the rear, there is another ground floor opening with a stone hood and timber lintel, along with an area of collapse under a stone hood with a timber lintel where the former house joins at right angles to the later barn range. The left gable end is built around a very large outcropping rock.
Inside, the building is partly derelict, although some beams remain in place. A new steel and concrete floor has been inserted to the left. The layout follows a baffle entry plan, with a central door opening onto a staircase wall; the stairs ascend from the room on the left between this wall and the main central fireplace. The room on the right features an open fireplace and a blocked wide splayed opening in the rear wall.
