Description
Rhos Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and has a slate roof. The building has two storeys, featuring a hall with a lateral stack and a service room at the west end. There are later lean-to extensions on the gable end and the north side, as well as a parlour at the upper end. A two-storey, one-bay wing with a gable stack has been added. The lower end of the hall has a wide six-panelled door. The windows are transomed and most have timber lintels, although the service room window has a segmental head and there is a drip mould over the rear window. On the north side, there are three transomed two-light windows from the 17th century on the first floor. The eaves are open, with the bearers painted red.
At the time of inspection in March 1995, the interior was not accessible. It is reported to contain a fine late 17th-century staircase with the original dog gate still in place, along with other notable features.
