Description
Great House is a large farmhouse from the early 19th century, though it has earlier origins. It is constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof and has three storeys with three symmetrical window bays. The central entrance features a beaded panel door with a margin glazed overlight above it. The windows are sixteen paned sashes set in openings with slightly cambered heads, while the second floor has 4 x 3 paned sashes. The eaves are boarded, and there is a gable stack on the left side and another stack on the rear pitch at the eastern end.
To the west, the main elevation continues with a single storey outbuilding that has been converted into separate accommodation. This outbuilding features a 20th-century canopy on brackets over a half-glazed door and casement windows.
At the rear, there is a single storey outshut that runs the entire length of the main building, with the pitch of its roof raised and slated at a later date. This section includes 20th-century windows and a door. The building is said to have evidence of origins dating back to the late 17th or early 18th century.
