Harley's Almhouses

Harley's Almshouses is a symmetrical single-storey building constructed from coursed rubble, featuring a half-hipped slate roof and three diagonally set red brick chimney stacks with stock brick caps. At the center, there is a broad gable over Nos. 15 and 16, which includes a coat of arms set in a diamond frame above a stone tablet. The tablet is inscribed with: "These Almshouses were erected and endowed by Frances Harley to the memory of her mother The Honourable Mrs Harley of Trebarried for the reception of 6 poor indigent women AD MDCCCXXXII." The building has voussoir lintels above Tudor pointed window and door openings. It also features paired casement windows with diamond leaded glazing, boarded shutters with 'C' shaped fastenings, and boarded doors. The gable ends are plain, and there is an extension at the rear.
