Description
Silurian House is a two-storey building with a stuccoed front facing The Bulwark, featuring three windows. It has a steeply pitched slate roof with projecting eaves. The first floor includes sash windows in plain openings, with a central 16-pane window and 20-pane windows on either side, each five panes wide. The ground floor has a central doorway with a two-panelled door, flanked by modern shop fronts.
At the rear, there is a one-storey wing with an attic located on Lion Street. Inside, beyond the central doorway, there is a vestibule with fielded panelling up to the dado on the right side and an eight-panelled door. The building features an 18th-century staircase with turned balusters, and the first floor has ceiling beams that are stop-chamfered.
