Description
The Maesycrugiau mausoleum, located in the churchyard of Llanllwni, is a single-storey structure built from coursed rock-faced stone and topped with a slate roof featuring coped gables. The west entrance has slate steps leading to a round-headed blocked doorway, in front of which lies a memorial slab topped with a cross. This slab commemorates Henry Jones, who died in 1848, Maud Margarette Mansel, who died in 1885, and Sir Courtney Mansel, who died in 1933. The side and rear walls contain inscription panels that honor other family members, including John Jones, who died in 1877, Emily Jones, who died in 1892, and Elizabeth Jones, who died in 1894. The mausoleum is surrounded by iron railings set on a dwarf stone wall, with a single gate on the west side.
