Description
The building is an L-plan outbuilding located to the east of The Close, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed from rubble stone, featuring cut stone heads above the openings that are incised as voussoirs. The roof is made of asbestos slate and is hipped at both ends. The eastern range of the building faces the road, while the southern range extends west towards the main house.
The southern range includes a door positioned at the extreme left, angled towards the eastern range. Next, there is a window with a cut stone head that appears to have been inserted into an infilled former coach entry. This is followed by an elliptical-arched coach entry, which has stone voussoirs and double board doors. To the extreme right, there is another inserted window with a timber lintel.
The eastern range originally had four doors with stone heads that step down the slope. The leftmost pair of doors has one altered to a window, followed by doors in the centre and centre right. There is also a window located under the eaves and a blocked door with a timber lintel in the angle to the southern range. The north end wall features two small tilting windows positioned under the eaves. The rear side facing the road is whitewashed, with a plinth towards the higher left end. The left side has a window with a stone head and another window above it under the eaves. The southern wall of the return range is made of rubble stone.
