Description
The Aviaries at Aberglasney consist of a row of six aviaries built from buff-coloured brick, featuring monopitched slate roofs, although the roof is in poor condition at the northern end and missing on the two shelters at the southern end. Each shelter includes a segmental-headed doorway on the right side, but the doors are missing. Above these doorways, there are openings in the brickwork arranged in cruciform patterns. The flight cages in front are enclosed by dwarf walls, which were designed to separate and manage the aggressive nature of cock pheasants. These walls have central gateways, although the gates are also missing, and there are iron arches leading to the cages, which no longer have their original iron meshes.
