Description
The gatehouse at Aberglasney is a two-storey structure built of rubble stone. The northwest front features a freestone round arch decorated with double roll mouldings and capitals. The side walls still show stub walls and the gables of former lower single-storey wings. At the rear, there is a similar arch to the front, but it is plain and has cut voussoirs. Above the gateway, there is a camber-headed doorway on the first floor. The passage inside is tunnel-vaulted and has a cobbled floor. A cobbled driveway, which has a different character, extends on the south side towards the house.
