Description
Dyffryn is a 19th-century building with scribed rendered elevations and a hipped slate roof on the front block, featuring late 19th-century terracotta crested ridges and decorative finials. The building has wide bracketed moulded soffits and a prominent rendered chimney-stack on the rear wall of the front block, along with a rendered stack at the centre ridge of the rear wing.
The facade is symmetrical with three bays and two storeys, showcasing 12-pane hornless sash windows. A central half-glazed porch has an inner round-arched doorway with a six-panel door and a fanlight featuring radiating glazing bars. The left end of the building has a 12-pane hornless sash window on each storey, while the right end features an upper 8-pane horned sash and a lower 12-pane horned sash, with a cellar window beneath.
At the rear, the cross-wing has a four-bay front. The left bay contains a 12-pane hornless sash that illuminates the staircase, while the other three bays are symmetrical, featuring 12-pane horned sashes surrounding a boarded door with a three-pane overlight. The rear of the wing includes a later outshut with a 20th-century window on the left and sashes on the right.
Inside, there is a narrow central hall with panelled doors leading to the main rooms. The early 19th-century staircase in the rear wing has a swept-up handrail, a bulbous newel, and scrolled tread-ends. On the north side, there is the former Vicar's study, which features a pitch-pine boarded wagon roof.
